Sportsability

Following the roll out of Sportsability to 51 special schools an evaluation is currently underway. Discussions are going with Disability Sport NI (DSNI) on the organisation for piloting Sportsability in the community. Kevin O'Neill has secured some support from the Employers Forum on Disability to support this. It is also planned that TOPs training will play a role in the sport and physical activity training programme being developed by DSNI.

Young People with a Disability

Following a pilot in Larne Council where local coaches and leisure centre staff were trained in TOPs, they ran a TOPs Summer Scheme. This has been sustained with an ongoing activity programme in the leisure centre and clubs. This has been further developed with a link to the local FE College and the delivery of TOP activities to Roddensvale Special Schools.

In Fermanagh, St Michaels Youth club has linked with the local PHAB club and are providing inclusive TOPs activity sessions.
