Cultural Olympiad Northern Ireland

Deloitte has been commissioned by the Arts Council to take forward a Northern Ireland wide consultation programme for the Cultural Olympiad of the London 2012 Games.  The Arts Council, working in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL) and its Cultural Programmer, has responsibility for progressing the Cultural Olympiad in Northern Ireland.

The "Cultural Olympiad" is a unique opportunity for hundreds of thousands of people in Northern Ireland to discover new ways of fulfilling their creative potential and will provide a chance to forge new relationships and partnerships.

Our task is to enlist your help by sharing your ideas regarding the nature of Cultural Olympiad activity that would be most beneficial in Northern Ireland.  We are inviting a wide variety of people, to include representatives from the arts, sports, community, business, cultural and youth sectors, to attend BIG IDEAS workshops at a variety of locations throughout Northern Ireland.

Each workshop will provide you with the latest information about the Cultural Olympiad, its themes and project criteria.  Detail of UK Legacy Trust Projects will also be provided.  Most importantly workshops will give you a chance to get involved in generating BIG IDEAS to showcase Northern Ireland over the next 4 years and to suggest ways of inspiring and involving young people.

I would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance at the session of your choice on 028 9053 1040, or via email to [email protected] along with your name, organisation and contact details two days before the session date.    Should you have any queries or comments about any of this information please contact Stephanie MacManus on 028 90 531359.
