An Author at Belfast City Hall. Primary
Six pupils from four local primary schools meet the well-known children’s
authors they have established contact with via email in the flesh. Taking part
are Marcus Sedgwick, Caroline Lawrence, Philip Ardagh and Cliff McNish.

Big
Lunch organised by the Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum, The Gasyard Centre,
128 Leckey Road, Derry, from 11am until 3.30pm.
Big
Lunch hosted by the Ardoyne/Shankill Health Partnership, Ardoyne Avenue,
Belfast, from noon until 3pm.
Saturday
November 6th
The
Mid Ulster Magic Circle is hosting its Annual Convention in the Fitzwilliam
Hotel, Templepatrick, on National Lottery Day, with great magic shows for kids.
The
Family Caring Centre at 2-5 Somerset Park, Rathenraw, Antrim, will be hosting a
coffee morning and open day with activities for adults and children.
The
Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum, The Mall, Armagh, will be opening specially for
National Lottery Day from 1pm-5pm.
Armagh
Observatory, College Hill, Armagh, will be offering free tours taking in the
building, telescopes and domes, with the special opening of the Observatory’s
meteorological databank.
The
Market Place Theatre in the centre of Armagh City will be offering free tours of
the building, and free family workshops.
Free
Open Day at the Ecos Centre, Ballymena, from 12noon until 5pm. Activities will
include nature trails and pond dipping, so make sure and dress for the weather.
Loughgiel
Community Association will be running an Open Day and free instructed fitness
sessions in its gym, with free showers and sauna at its community fitness suite
in Lough Road, Loughgiel, Ballymena, from 10am-4pm.
The
National Trust will be holding a free costume event at Rowallane House in
Saintfield, County Down.
The
Burnavon Arts and Cultural Centre in Burn Road, Cookstown, will be joining in
the 10th Birthday celebrations throughout the day.
Millennium
Court Arts Centre, William Street, Portadown, will be running free exhibition
tours. There will also be storytelling and Christmas Art workshops during the
day.
Downpatrick
Railway and Steam Museum will be opening specially, and will offer free train
rides from the Railway Station in Market Street, Downpatrick.
Saintfield
United Football Club based at Comber Road, Saintfield,
will be hosting a mini soccer tournament for 100 children with a barbecue
for parents.
Belcoo
and District Historical Society will open its Rural Repository of Heritage
Museum for free from 10am-4pm. The museum is at The Enterprise Centre, Railway
Street, Belcoo, County Fermanagh.
The
Devenish Partnership Forum will be officially opening its National Lottery
Funded Nature Reserve at Kilmacormack, Enniskillen, at 12 noon, after which the
reserve will be open free to the public .
The
Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum will host the first public performance of
a newly restored 18th century Egan Harp, played by internationally
renowned harpist Danielle Perrett.
There
will be free guided tours of Castle Gardens, Lisburn, starting at 11am and 2pm.

Island Arts Centre, Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn, will host a free art
exhibition with special ticket offers and its evening show on National Lottery
Day. There will also be workshops for children and adults during the day.
Creggan
Country Park, Westway, Creggan, Derry, has organised a canoeing course for
National Lottery Day. Places are all booked up.
The
Playhouse Theatre, Artillery Street, Derry, will celebrate National Lottery Day
by running a free visual art workshop for children.
Millennium
Forum, Newmarket Street, Derry, are giving away four free tickets for the
closing night of the top show ‘Give My Head Peace’ on Saturday November 6th.

The
Nerve Centre in Derry City will be offering free cinema screenings throughout
the day.
The
Ulster Folk and Transport Museum in Holywood will be have special talks at
National Lottery funded sites at the museum, and is also producing leaflets
detailing the history of those sites.
An
Creagan Visitors’ Centre, at Creggan, outside Omagh, County Tyrone, will be
running a free family exhibition on archaeology and boglands, and will be part
of the projects new wheelchair accessible walk.
Kilcreggan
Homes in Carrickfergus are planning something special, possibly relating to
their wonderful Open Farm.
Lagan
Legacy will be operating special boat trips from the Odyssey Pontoon, Belfast,
with discounts available to those who purchase their tickets at the Lagan Legacy
stand at the Good Causes Fair inside the Odyssey Pavilion. From 12 noon until
5pm.
The
Belfast Giants ice hockey team will be doing some special 10th
Birthday promotions at their home game against the London Racers at the Odyssey
Arena, Belfast, on the evening of November 6.
Sunday
November 7th
FLAME!
The gasworks museum of Ireland, at Irish Quarter West, Carrickfergus, will be
opening for free from 2pm-5pm
Wednesday
November 10th
The
Western Education and Library Board will be holding an Open Day at Omagh Branch
Library, with visitors having the opportunity to learn more about the National
Lottery funded People’s Network and enjoy a cup of coffee.
