Sport Northern Ireland Table Tennis Youth Games
a huge success…
The recent Table Tennis Youth Games held in Fivemile Town College were hailed a success by competitors and organisers alike. The Games brought together 120 participants from the Southern, North Eastern, Western, South Eastern, and Belfast Education and Library Boards. In addition there were also competitors from Monaghan and Donegal.

The Southern team were on top form winning the Under 17 category, taking second place in the Under 14 and third place in the Under 11 categories respectively and then going on to win the overall shield. Belfast were close contenders for the shield winning the Under 11 category, coming second in the Under 17 Category and being placed fourth in the Under 14 Category.

Speaking on the Games, Jing Yi Gao, Director of Coaching and Development of the Ulster Branch, Irish Table Tennis Association commented: “The Games went extremely well. This is one of the few team events we have this season and it has certainly helped team building. We would like to thank Sport Northern Ireland for sponsoring this event”.
Eamonn McCartan, Chief Executive of Sport Northern Ireland added: “We are delighted to be able to support the Youth Games once again. I would like to congratulate all those who took part and wish them continued success”.
